Power excursion reduction in Flex-Grid optical networks with symbol rate adaptation

Résumé

In this work, we propose a new use-case of symbol rate adaptation in Flex-Grid optical networks. We demonstrate that symbol rate adaptation of variable rate transponders can mitigate optical power excursion after spectrum defragmentation.
