During the Greek World's long history it was not unusual to see the tumular form as a tomb marker. However, Magna Graecia's documentation seems to indicate a specific situation as only a few number of mounds are identified to date. Actually, only less than thirty been identified for the period between the 5th and the 3rd century BC. Their use is nevertheless indicative of the cultural syncretism that occurred in the region at that time.
C. in territorio greco o ellenizato.
