Rain metrology : influence of sensors on measurement capacity

Résumé

In order to estimate dispersion affecting rainfall measurements by raingauges, an experimental raingauge network was set up from January 1987 to August 1989. Five tipping bucket raingauges (a type commonly used in France) were installed in close proximity (a few meters apart) on a cleared site. Two types of sensors were tested.
