Dynamic lectin-recognition of multivalent glyconanoplatforms

Résumé

The glycocode is the natural means of communication between proteins and many events involving the cellular membrane are regulated using it. The first step in understanding the gycocode was based on the observation that sugars preorganize in order to be recognized. This opened that door to synthetic approaches of sugar biomimetic architectures. Nano platforms (modified fullerens, nanoparticles, quantum dots, various surfaces) were designed to achieve selective targeting. Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) is an effective tool in characterizing sugar-protein interaction both quantitatively and qualitatively.
