A new metric to evaluate the supply chain agility
Résumé
— The business environment in which companies operate in becomes more and more dynamic, changing and unpredictable. Hence, supply chains are often asked to deal with sudden pressures and unplanned events, i.e. situations that need agility. With the increasing interest of the concept of agility, decision makers need practical metrics and indicators that enable them to assess supply chain agility. In this paper, we propose a new agility metric, the Supply Chain Agility Metric (SCAM), to measure the ability of a supply chain to respond to unplanned situations. Such a measurement can reflect the agile capabilities of a SC and boost to make the needed improvements.
