Experimental assessment of structure-borne wave speed and damping from displacement field measurements
Résumé
The paper discusses the experimental estimation of the structure-borne wave speed and damping from displacement field measurements, using
laser Doppler vibrometry. The response of the structure is measured as function of frequency and as function of spatial position, from which
the dispersion relationships are determined. Different approaches will be discussed, such as simply assessing the highest peak in the dispersion
result, and more advanced approaches like Prony. Experimental results are shown for a sandwich structure as well as a porous material, and
pros and cons are discussed.
