New Resource Allocation Techniques for Base Station Power Reduction in Orthogonal and Non-Orthogonal Multiplexing Systems

Résumé

This paper provides several new methods for joint subcarrier and power allocation in the contexts of orthogonal and non-orthogonal multiple access. The aim is to minimize the average downlink BS transmit power, under user rate constraints. Particular care is given to the reduction of algorithms' complexity. Results show that the proposed methods allow a significant decrease in the necessary total power achieved by NOMA, compared to orthogonal signaling.
