Résumé

The introduction of teraalkyllead compounds as antiknock additives in gasoline created a new huge anthropogenic source of lead in the environment. The question arises whether the development of automobile transport modified the lead level in the entire terrestrial atmosphere. Organolead compounds are valuable indicators of specific lead pollution originating in the use of leaded gasoline
