Using Context-Aware Multi-Agent Systems for Robust Smart City Infrastructure

Résumé

This chapter focuses on experience of how one can achieve the goal of providing smart city users with fresh, relevant information, promptly, without the users needing to offer personal information in exchange, except when the information is absolutely necessary and the user is fully aware of the transfer. The author has grouped the requirements into three categories: context-awareness and integration, scale and dependability and user's privacy. The chapter presents the architecture which is designed on the foundation offered by experience with architectures, namely AmIciTy, tATAmI and DESIA. The author have defined a set of requirements for such an infrastructure and proposed an architecture in which applications rely on a uniform middleware for the management of user information. This middleware relies on keeping information local to the user's devices and managing information such that the needed information is available to the user at the right time.
