Torso flexion tests

Résumé

ABISUP stands for "ABdominal Injury and SUbmarining Prediction'. FAURECIA, GIE PSA/RENAULT, HUMANETICS, IFSTTAR, TRANSPOLIS, UCBL, TOYOTA MOTOR EUROPE and CEESAR are partners of ABISUP. ABISUP's goal is to improve small occupant protection by offering a tool able to assess submarining and abdominal injuries in frontal crashes. Also, there is a possibility to use the predictor to monitor pre-tensioning loads. THOR 50th male will be used for the project activity due to the limited availability of THOR 5th female (only one prototype at VRTC) and the lack of biomechanical data on 5th female subjects. The project aims at delivering scaled design specifications for the THOR 5th female together with a submarining predictor and abdominal injury criterion. The work package 1 deals with the current THOR Mod Kit or M evaluation (standard and with Lower abdomen prototype). The present report (deliverable D1.3) presents torso flexion tests done at Ifsttar.
