Résumé

With the rapid growth in mobile and wireless computing technology, location management techniques become more challenging. In a mobile environment, mobile nodes move from one place to another and by consequence change their IP addresses. Location management refers to the problem of updating and searching the current addresses of the mobile nodes in such environments. To make it efficient, the sum of update/lookup costs of a location database must be minimized. In this paper, we present a novel distributed location management architecture based on P2P paradigms that can adapt dynamically to user pattern changes. Thus location management is done efficiently and responsibility is shared fairly among locations servers.
