Influence of wideband noise on sinusoid parameter estimation provided by the two-point interpolated odd-DFT algorithm

Résumé

This paper investigates the influence of wideband noise on the estimators of the parameters of a complex-valued sinusoid based on the two-point interpolated odd-discrete Fourier transform (IpODFT) algorithm. To this aim, the analytical expressions for the estimator variances are derived in the paper. Using the derived expressions the statistical efficiencies of the analyzed estimators with respect to the related unbiased Cramér-Rao lower bounds are then analyzed. Also, the influence of signal parameters on the estimator sensitivities is analyzed. The performed analysis enables the determination of the most accurate parameter estimator. Moreover, computer simulations allow to verify the accuracies of the derived expressions.
