"Tyr : Le complexe des bains et ses environs"
Résumé
Since 2008, the Franco-Libanese Archaeological Mission of Tyre (dir. P.-L. Gatier) re-explores an almost complete urban area along the Mediterranean littoral. We aim to renew our knowledge about the excavations led by Maurice Chehab between 1946 &1975 which were only partially published in reason of the civil war. The bath complex is one of the emblematic projects of the early byzantine period which completely transformed this part of the town. After giving a short description of its vestiges, this paper discusses about our first hypothesis.
