A Waveform Generator Based on a CMOS RF-DAC for 5G Carrier Aggregation
Résumé
The number of connected devices is expected to exceed the number of humans by far. The density of wireless devices and the associated communication flows sharing the same space-time will require a smart and agile use of frequency resources. The development of a flexible, low cost and low power disruptive transmitter architecture is proposed. It uses a differentiating coding scheme, which leverages a mathematical and technological reduction of the energy cost of information transit. The design of an RF-DAC suited to this architecture is presented and its performances are assessed toward 5G. It addresses carrier aggregation purposes in the sub-6 GHz range, as well as IoT perspectives.
