Wireless sensor networks and efficient localisation

Abstract

The improvements in wireless sensor networks (WSN) moves the technology to be more convenient with its practical installation feature and low cost. Today, WSNs are used in many applications and to be able to ensure the needs of these applications the sensor nodes have to know their own positions. Besides, to find the exact positions of these nodes, diverse methods are presented in the literature. We presented a recursion based localization technique over an ad hoc network composed of wireless nodes. Here, in the given wireless network structure when a mobile node needs to find out its own position, it will find the nearest two or three reference nodes around itself who own their localization informations so that by utilizing these nodes' localization informations, the mobile node will find out its own location. Additionally, the presented alghorithm includes some basic properties of Optimized Link-State Routing (OLSR) protocol and DV-hop schema
