A multimodal freight network flow problem for port hinterland container distribution system

Abstract

As a critical factor to raise the efficiency of the whole maritime logistics, the port-hinterland transport system needs to be further studied. A review of multimodal transport especially the network flow problem is provided. Then a multimodal freight transport network flow model is proposed for port-hinterland container distribution network. The model is formulated based on path with capacity and time constraints. A solution method is developed combining the column generation and SPP algorithm.
