Crystallization of Pharmaceutical Crystals
Résumé
The aim of this chapter is to provide students as well as industrial and academic research scientists who intend to tackle crystallization of pharmaceutical crystals with theory and practical examples. Crystallization involves two separate processes, nucleation and growth, which are rarely completely unconnected. Here, we give theoretical background and concrete examples illustrating the crystallization of active pharmaceutical ingredients and intermediates, and make recommendations for the development of a crystallization process at laboratory scale.
