Magnesium

Résumé

Magnesium is an essential mineral, which plays a crucial role in many cell functions. Its regular supply to the body from foods is mandatory for body functioning. Foods rich in magnesium include leafy green vegetables, nuts, beans, and whole grain cereals. Some drinking waters contribute significantly to the dietary intake of magnesium. Inadequate magnesium intake is observed in large parts of the populations of western countries. This is mainly due to depletion of magnesium in refined foods. The inadequacy of magnesium intake leads to the latent deficiency at the origin of several chronic dysfunctions and diseases
