Knowledge and context in design for a collaborative decision making
Résumé
The paper presents the SisPro project, which is now at the development phase. The system is a web-based environment for distributed architecture/engineering/construction teamwork where the decision is made collectively. The goal of the project is to improve the teamwork performance by allowing participants to constitute a team and to collaborate in a project by interacting remotely in a virtual environment. The environment takes advantage of the current information technology to permit people geographically distributed to maintain a shared view of a problem, in which knowledge is learned, in concrete situations. The paper presents how context intervenes in the acquisition of the different types of knowledge, and how SisPro enables each participant in the teamwork to structure their own contextual knowledge and share, at least partially, their individual's tacit knowledge with other participants. The paper presents some of SisPro features that address these points.
