Rigidity of the Generalized Other, narrowness of the Otherness and demodernization, in the framework of symbolic interactionism
Résumé
Some key notions of symbolic interactionism (according to G.H. Mead), like those of Generalized Other and Otherness, may be usefully employed to try to explain modernization-demodernization phenomena. This proposal is mainly aimed to this scope. Some further inherent points of history of economy and sociology are also outlined.
