Is there neural dissociation between language and reasoning?

Résumé

Based on the finding that an algebraic equivalence judgment task elicits higher activity in parietal regions associated with number processing, but no increased activity within perisylvian language areas, a recent study argues for a dissociation between thought and language. Is this conclusion justified by the evidence?
