Résumé
The authors discuss the opportunity of and provide evidence for the identification of a text type particular to the joke. They present a set of features shared by all jokes, which can be taken as the basis of the construction of a definition of "jokes". They then show that jokes satisfy all seven textual requirements, as presented in an influential definition of "textuality"
