État du fonds de manuscrits indiens à la Bibliothèque interuniversitaire des Langues Orientales
Résumé
The main object of this paper is to provide the scientific community with the list of Indian manuscripts preserved at the Bibliothèque Interuniversitaire des Langues Orientales (Paris). Most of the manuscripts are in Dravidian Languages (Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu), except for few items in Sanskrit or Hindi. About ten manuscripts are from the hand of Julien Vinson who copied manuscripts kept at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. Julien Vinson was a teacher at the École des Langues Orientales for Hindustani and Tamil languages. Some manuscripts have been written on palm leaves
(mostly given by the Prince Henri d’Orléans), but the majority of manuscripts has been written on Western paper by some missionaries or scholars.
