Cold rolling of a zirconium alloy: texture effects and modelling
Résumé
Zirconium alloys are particularly important materials in nuclear applications. During thermo-mechanical processes, they present an anisotropic behaviour due to their crystallographic texture. Cold rolling is investigated in this study for zirconium specimens with specific crystallographic textures. X ray diffraction measurements are carried out in order to examine crystallographic texture evolution with the plastic deformation. Micro-macro calculations based on the active deformation mechanisms of the material are considered for the analysis of the deformation history, completed with finite element calculations to investigate the stress and strain states in the material during the process.
