"Learning to live better together": enabling schools and communities to implement a health promotion policy and minimize health inequalities in France

Résumé

Reducing health inequalities is an issue of fairness and social justice, and action should be focused on reducing the gradient. Giving every child the best start in life is crucial to reducing health inequalities across the life-course. Family, local communities and schools have a key role to play in achieving equity from the start.
