Evaluating the quality of dynamic geometry resources with I2GEO

Résumé

This paper explores the role of mathematics teachers in dynamic geometry (DG) resource analysis, using a questionnaire as a means for professional development, and the integration of DG in their classes. The questionnaire aims to allow the evaluation of mathematical, technical, educational and ergonomic quality of resources available on the i2geo platform by its users. The purpose of the evaluation is twofold: (1) the results are taken into account by the platform search engine in a way that the "best" resources appear at the top of the list, and (2) the evaluation allows highlighting possible weaknesses of the resource so that it can be improved. In this study, we report about two experiments of the teachers' use of the questionnaire, and we will draw conclusions on its potential to develop skills required for an efficient use of DG.
