L'oasis de Figuig, une bulle patrimoniale en interaction avec le monde
Résumé
Figuig is an oasis in extrem eastern Morocco, surrounded by the Algerian border. It is geographically isolated. Since the closure of the border in 1994, it is economically isolated. Moreover, a political isolation has long kept out of national development programs and actions fostering heritage. This isolation paradoxically allowed Figuig to preserve earthen architecture, a large palm grove and cultural traditions from a rich past of caravan crossroads. It can be likened to an "heritage bubble" We show in this paper how an oasis in a situation of "heritage bubble" manages to retain its cultural heritage, despite multiple interactions between actors to global logic.
