              <p>Self-healing of cracks in an ultra high performance concrete is investigated in this paper. An experimental program is carried out to quantify the phenomenon, which has been mainly highlighted by means of water permeability tests until now. Mechanical behaviour of self-healed concrete under 3 points bending, and acoustic emission analysis of the cracking mechanisms are reported. The mechanical tests demonstrate a recovery of the global stiffness, depending on the time of healing, for beams initially cracked and then self-healed, and a slow improvement of structural strength. The acoustic emission analysis is carried out in order to show the mechanical response of new crystals precipitating in the crack. The microcracking of these crystals during the 3 points bending tests is highlighted.</p>

            <abstract xml:lang="fr">
              <p>L'auto-cicatrisation des fissures sur un béton à ultra-hautes performances, considéré comme matériau modèle, est étudiée au travers d'essais mécaniques et acoustiques. Le phénomène, principalement mis en évidence par des essais de perméabilité à l'eau jusqu'à maintenant, est ainsi quantifié. Le comportement mécanique en flexion 3 points d'éprouvettes de béton cicatrisées et une analyse par émission acoustique des mécanismes de fissuration sont proposés. Les essais mécaniques montrent une reprise de raideur globale, dépendant du temps de cicatrisation, pour les éprouvettes initialement endommagées et ensuite cicatrisées, et une légère reprise de résistance. En parallèle, l'analyse par émission acoustique est menée afin de montrer la précipitation de nouveaux cristaux dans la fissure, responsables de cet apport sur le plan mécanique. La microfissuration de ces cristaux pendant les essais de flexion 3 points est ainsi mise en évidence.</p>
