Investigation of the thermodynamic properties of the aqueous solutions of SecButylamine or Cyclohexylamine

Résumé

Vapor*liquid equilibrium (VLE) data are essential f or the design of separation processes and equipment as well as for the extension of thermodyn amic models. The present paper is part of a research program on (vapor*liquid) equilibria (VLE) and excess enthalpies ( H E ) in mixtures containing amines. The purpose of the present work is to investigate VLE of aqueous solutions of amines with a view to use the results to determine interaction parameters for predictive group contribution methods. A survey of the literature sh ows that VLE or H E data available for these systems are scarce. The vapor pressures of (secbutylamine + water) or ( cyclohexylamine + water) and of all the pure components were measured by means of two static dev ices at temperatures between (283 and 363) K. The data were correlated with the Antoine equati on. From these data, excess Gibbs functions were calculated for several constant temperatures a nd fitted to a fourth*order Redlich*Kister equation using Barker's method. The NRTL, UNIQUAC and UNIFAC models have also been used for fitting binary systems. Good results are obtained in the prediction of the total pressure and the excess Gibbs energies for these systems.
