Abstract

Frictional contact problems in linear elasticity with moving rigid obstacle keeping constant geometry are studied. Steady solutions are sought. It is proved that there exists a positive critical value of the friction coefficient below which there exists a unique steady solution. Uniqueness can be lost when this critical value of the friction coefficient is exceeded.
