Next-generation fibers : Chalcogenide photonic-crystal fibers expand nonlinear applications

Résumé

Waveguide losses continue to be a challenge when using traditional manufacturing methods for photonic-crystal-based chalcogenide optical fibers, so new glass-casting methods are being devised that create fibers with record-high nonlinear coefficients.
