Effect of Physical Aging Conditions on the Mechanical Properties of Te2As3Se5 (TAS) Glass Fibers

Résumé

Effect of three aging conditions, in dark, in light, and in light synchronously with load (with load), on the mechanical properties of Te2As3Se5 (TAS) glass have been investigated through a series of tensile strength (sigma) measurements. Relief of sigma in three aging conditions could be related to structural relaxation. And the relaxation time almost 1.5months is well in agreement with our previous results of calorimetric and mechanical properties. Compared with dark condition, photoinduced effect makes the relief of sigma more obvious, but load effect makes the sigma to be stronger in direction of testing. Thus, we suggest that, to keep fibers with good sigma, they should be stored in dark and with load.
