The thermodynamicdescriptionfortheGa-Ti systemhasbeenupdatedusingtheCALPHADapproach.By combining theexistingexperimentaldataandnewlyobtainedresultsfrom ab initio calculations and cluster variationmethod(CVM),theGibbsenergyfunctionsoftheindividualphasesoftheGa-Ti system havebeenevaluated.Comparedwiththepreviousthermodynamicmodeling,thepresentassessment showsabetteragreementwiththeexperimentsandthecalculatedenthalpiesofformationofthe intermetallic compoundsobtainedfrom ab initio calculations.
