Robust and efficient routing in wireless mesh networks with unreliable nodes
Résumé
Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) are presently one of the most promising global telecommunication systems. It is expected that they will profoundly change the landscape of wireless broadband. This is because providing last mile connectivity to a backbone network (such as the Internet) continues to be a challenge of fundamental importance for the evolution of next generation wireless networks. In this paper, we address the main challenging issues related to the routing methods in the WMNs. We propose several routing algorithms which provide robustness and energy efficiency guarantees in an unideal environment which is characterized by frequent or rare node failures/misbehaviour. Numerical investigations illustrate that the proposed algorithms guarantee successful communication with power efficiency and low overhead even when faulty nodes subsist in the environment.
