Derivation of hierarchies of reduced MHD models in Tokamak geometry
Résumé
We study the mathematical structure of reduced MHD models. We show how to modify the entropy moment method to obtain a hierarchy of models with a correct energy balance. Our procedure is adapted to the complicated geometry of the torus. We obtain a comparaison principle between all these models that concerns the growth rate of possible unstable modes. A new correction term due to the geometry is derived which is important for the stability of the models.
