Scaling-down to Embedded Systems for Dynamic Compilation
Résumé
Just-in-time compilation techniques are today strongly developed in desktop and server architectures with encouraging results in terms of performance. With the development of even more complex embedded devices (Smartphones for instance), dynamic compilation solutions have been also developed in this field for approximately 10 years. Consequently, important problems of scaling-down in terms of performance and memory footprint have appeared. The idea in this paper is to analyze the reasons of these problems and to propose solutions in order to tackle them.
