Pr3+-doped Cs:Ga:S:Cl glass for efficient 1.3 µm optical fibre amplifier

Résumé

The longest reported lifetime for the Pr3+:1G4, energy level was measured at 2.46 ms in Cs:Ga:S:Cl2, glass, with a 24% total quantum efficiency. The Pr3+:1G4-3H 5, emission, peaking at 1312 nm, is centred in the second optical telecommunication window, and the gain per unit pump power is predicted to-be twice higher that of other candidates
