Analysis and Experimental Validation of Various Photovoltaic System Models

Résumé

A photovoltaic conversion chain is classically composed of flow-through photovoltaic panels, by means of a converter, on a continuous voltage bus bar. In the present case, it has also been fitted with instrumentation for measuring weather conditions. In this article, we propose the modeling set-up for such a chain, in the aim of estimating its energy production. In order to characterize the photovoltaic panels, we have applied and compared the models available in the literature. The characteristic of converters equipped with an MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) function is determined on the basis of experimental readings. All meteorological data recorded by the system are then averaged; we have also analyzed the impact of averaging frequency on the energy output of the derived model.
