Power Interaction in Non-hierarchical Supply Chain Network
Résumé
Non-hierarchical supply chain network emphasizes equivalent relationship of all the members and the hierarchy cannot be imposed to the members by overwhelming managerial decisions. However, this is not always the case because there are still some members more "important" than others due to their roles in the network, their activities during the product development and manufacturing, the criticality of their performance, etc. This paper aims to develop a power interaction network that explores the implicit hierarchy behind the non-hierarchical supply chain network. We present a general methodology of generating the interaction network based on the analysis of power relationship between members. Furthermore, we focus on the power evaluation of partners according to their activities and involvement in the product development and manufacturing process. Our methodology will help companies re-consider their positions in the network and have a clear view of the power interaction.
