Observation of evanescent coupling and propagation from organic micro-disks to fibers of molecular self-assembled nanotubes

Résumé

We report the first developments for a new approach of integrated photonics using optical evanescent coupling from organic micro-disks to fibers of biomimetic self-assembled peptidic/silica nanotubes (NT) directly included on the organic chip. We highlight a specific photonic propagation along various heterostructured-NT-fibers featuring distances beyond two centimeters and losses inferior to 1dB/cm.
