Study of the use of fluidized bed plasma reactors for the treatment of alumina supported palladium catalyst: Application for SCR NOx by CH4 in stationary sources
Résumé
Calcination is an important step in catalyst synthesis. This work examd. plasma treatment as an alternative to calcination, since it is a more energy efficient process. A radio frequency, fluidized bed plasma reactor was used for the pretreatment process with different gas mixts. (Ar and Ar/O2 mixts.) over Pd/gamma-Al2O3 catalysts generally used for the DeNOx processes with CH4. Initial catalytic results obtained using plasma-treated catalysts clearly showed plasma treatment can replace classic calcination performed at 500°C, leading to a sustainable catalyst synthesis for NOx redn. by hydrocarbons in stationary sources.
