How Modern Displays Push Conventional Colorimetry to its Limit
Résumé
Various recent studies have shown that variations in observers' color vision characteristics can be a significant issue in modern display colorimetry, since peaky color primaries (commonly red, green and blue) are often used to achieve more vivid and saturated colors. This paper presents an overview of this problem in the context of media and entertainment industry applications. The significance of the effect of observer variability is demonstrated through recent experimental results.
