Effect of Grain Size Reduction and Geometrical Confinement in Fine Grained Copper: Potential Applications as a Material for Reversible Electrical Contacts

Résumé

The potential of ultrafine grained copper as a material for reversible electrical contact is investigated. The influence of grain size and sample size on strength and electrical properties is discussed. The existence of an optimal grain size and the relevance of size effects for the mechanical properties are analyzed.
