Temporal alignment of communicative gesture sequences

Résumé

We address the problem of style translation for expressive agents capable of delivering informations via sign language. Style translation is the process of transforming an existing motion performed according to an initial style/mood into a motion which keeps its intrinsic meaning but is performed according a different style/mood. We show how an existing dimension reduction method; weighted PCA can lead to a framework capable of handling the two main concerns of motion style translation: time registration and geometric warping.
