Pacemakers immunity to low frequency interferences

Résumé

This paper presents an in vitro study of the behavior of cardiac pacemakers submitted to low frequency electromagnetic interferences. The developed method is based upon the principle specific to electromagnetic compatibility, which recommends starting from the target, identifying the disturbances and then introducing secondary influencing parameters in stepwise fashion. The presented results are concerned with the evaluation of pacemaker's immunity to led and beaming interferences; In that last case the interference source is magnetic field ; the studied frequencies are 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 10 kHz and 25 kHz.
