Target localization and measured scattered field pre-processing using spectral bandwidth minimization for shallowly buried target problems

Résumé

In this article, a fast and efficient method to detect and localize shallow buried targets is presented. This technique, based on the electromagnetic scattering measurements, takes profit of the spectral bandwidth properties of the scattered field to pre-process the measured fields to extract the contribution of the target. It can also provide a quick estimation of the localization of the target under test. Experimental results in the context of rebar detection in concrete are presented.
