Towards a Safe Design of CANopen Distributed Instruments

Résumé

This paper proposes a modeling for a safe design of intelligent instruments distributed on a CANopen fieldbus. It gives a brief summary of the service-based User Operating Mode modeling and the specificity of the application layer of the CANopen fieldbus, followed by a presentation of the application to a safe design of CANopen distributed instruments. An example of the instrumentation of an open-channel irrigation canal is used to illustrate these concepts.
