Iterative solidification procedure to determine the optimal marker location
Résumé
The aim of this paper is to present a new method for determining the best and worst marker locations from which to calculate segment kinematics. An iterative algorithm based on rotation matrix optimization was applied to 26 markers on the thigh. The most deformed markers were iteratively removed until only three markers remained. Two different movements, landing and walking were analyzed for one subject. The greater trochanter appears to be one of the worst marker locations for both movements. Finding the best marker locations need further experimentation and a greater number of subjects for a robust determination.
