Résumé

Launching, performing and managing a New Product Development (NPD) project are the most challenging issues that companies have to cope with. Lots of results concerning these projects are available and there are obviously similarities between NPD projects performed by small and medium enterprises (SME) and Big ones. However, quite different problems can be highlighted between them. These elements seem so evident that very often they are not considered in various research works. The main idea of this practical paper is to describe precisely two concrete but generic projects and to extract from them some basic drivers for researchers in the field of product development and design.
