Wave propagation through honeycomb shells: theoretical and numerical aspects

Résumé

The paper presents the simulation of wave propagation through honeycomb shells. These structures are ubiquitous in the aerospace launcher industry but their dynamic behaviour in the high frequency range involved during stage separation is not well known. Several refined models are discussed and evaluated with respect to experimental results, wave time arrival, dispersion and mode conversion predictions.
